When it’s raining…

Yours truly wasn’t well couple of days ago, suddenly I got temperature and head spin which resulting I couldn’t update my blog and do my other work. Hope you guys are ok. Sekarang ni musim penyakit rasanya. Hujan pon almost everyday turun dgn lebatnya. Dah nk bulan 12, mmg musim hujan kan? Jadinya, take care of yourself ok.

When I was a kid, school system at that time was based on semester. So normally new semester for each year starts in December. Bermakna sekolah bermula di musim hujan. Huhuhu. Can you imagine how frustrated our parents are masa tu because baju and kasut sekolah baru semua habis kotor kene lumpur and tanah merah. I was staying at Tanah Rancangan Felda with my family, because my father was a Felda officer, since duduk dekat felda yg penuh ladang getah, so the road at that time semuanya jalan tanah merah lagi.

Dan disebabkan hujan lebat setiap hari, peneroka can’t tap the rubber trees to get money to pay school fees. Banyak la masa tu anak-anak peneroka yang terpaksa berhutang dulu dengan sekolah utk bayar fees. Tapi tu cume segelintir, sbb ada juga anak-anak peneroka yang mampu bayar yuran sekali harung, maybe yang tu parent dia pandai menabung dimasa getah tengah banyak dan cuaca baik utk menoreh.

I nk tulis panjang lagi sebenarnya, sbb I suka mengimbau kenangan masa zaman kanak-kanak. Tapi sekarang nk kene qada kerja-kerja yang terbengkalai masa tk sihat hari tu. Sambung later ok. Before that, ini lah baju yang I sketch the other day, feel free to check my entry about it here, however it’s still unfinished I need to add the 3D flowers as shown in my sketch. Insyallah Rabu ni complete and I can shoot the complete look.

Planta tv ads that one could never forget…

Ooo mannnnn..look at this! Do you remember this tin? If you ask me, of courseeeee! I remember it a lotttttt. I think I grow up with it. Thanks to my father in law  who gave me the yellow planta tin to me this morning [if it isn't because of him, I wouldn't know the existence of this tin]. I felt like jumping to the sky upon touching the tin…wowww weeee this is VINTAGE! Well, actually it isn’t that vintage since the tin is very shiny and new, it is actually a coin box/can. Planta is celebrating 80 years anniversary [wow 80 years? like seriously?] and they are giving away the coin can for free. Other than the vintage/retro ads design, there is also cartoon drawn by lat on the other side of the tin. All I can say this Planta coin container reminisced about my childhood memories.

One drawback, if you wanna take out all the coins later you need to open the tin with a can opener which apparently you can’t use it as a coin box anymore after that. Boleh lah…but dia akan terbukak without cover. Bekas pensil mungkin lebih sesuai.

And speaking of Planta, who can forgets Planta retro tv ads? Especially for someone who loves watching tv ads like me. Ehe. Yeah, strange..as much as I hate ads masa dulu-dulu, especially ads chewing gum yg Linda Jasmin jadi model tu, sbb nyer setiap kali tengok kartun or cerita utk budak-budak sure lah balik-balik keluar muka Linda Jasmin kunyah gum, but yes I do love some of the ads too! Love-hate kata orang putih

My favorite was Planta Raya tv advertisement in the 80′s. I think I was still in elementary school back then when the ads start showing on tv. The ads beri kesan mendalam to myself sebab I think masa tu I dah faham apa itu makna bulan ramadhan dan berhari raya

I can still remember the good looking [pretty sure delicious too] variety of biscuits being showcased in that ads and how I craved for it so badly. Almaklum tengok masa bulan puasa. Hehe. Since I missed that ads so much, I search for it on Youtube and thanks to this one fellow at youtube, he got such a nice collection of retro ads! From the Trojan ads to Fab Super Busa and of course the famous EON Hari Raya ads [in which Jamal Abdilah looking so healthy and Raja Emma still slender and charming with her cute littel voice]. Here goes the Planta ads. Enjoy!

To be honest with you guys, this may sound a little bit crazy, but I wept while watching those ads again. I really missed my childhood…where blog doesn’t exist yet and it is all about Transformers, Gaban and Maero Attack. So much of being a drama queen…huhu.

p/s: by the way, siapa yer budak dalam gambar tin planta tu? sure sekarang dah umur 30 gak macam saya. hihi.

My hero will turn 1 year old end of this month!  Yay!

We are in birthday party mood! Wow how time flies and suddenly dang!!! Ichiro is going to be 1 year old in few days time…

It’s truly hard to describe my feeling now. I would never forget how tough my pregnancy was , how amazing natural labor experience that I went through and how challenging our life as a zombie parents now [welcome to the sleepless world!]

I can’t thank GOD enough since Ichiro is such an easy boy to deal with. He seldom being cranky, pretty easy to put him to sleep [but sometimes, he did put my nerve on jugak la, bila refuse to sleep, but not that frequent], he cries less….and etc.

It just that now since dah kerap berjalan, he always wanna hold my hands and drag me to everywhere he goes. That really drives me nuts and rasa nk patah pinggang pon ada! If it’s not because of his sloppy kiss….ahhhhh dat kiss…. Yes! My son now knows how to kiss already and that was really the icing on the cake. I’m one happy mother on the earth! Who can say no to sloppy kiss (from a baby)? ~ errr or maybe from a pet for some…but not for me lah.huhu.

Bubble factory working hard…heart the rainbow bubbles..lovely!

Me and husband went to Toys R Us to look for some toys for Ichiro and some birthday party decorations. Unfortunately I can’t find the things that I looked for [will look for it somewhere else] but we found a bubble factory for Ichiro! Awesome!

Bubble factory is a battery operated and it can produces bubbles non-stop until the battery is dead or the soap liquid finish. You need not to hold it , just place it on a flat surface.

I rasa benda ni dekat pasar malam pon ada jual, complete with sound and music. Ichiro punya tak ada music. Will scout for ones yg ada music dekat pasar malam later lah.

For now, with or without music….bubbles is always fun to play with!

Teringat masa kecik-kecik, ahh sudahhhh..dah start dah…hihi [haku suka la kan sikit-sikit nk bukak kisah silam] Main buih ni sebenarnya mainan tradisional jugak kot rasanya. Sbb dah main since kecik-kecik lagi kan. Masa tu kedai-kedai runcit jual buih ni dalam botol plastik warna merah then ada kayu peniup bubble yg ada lubang bulat. My mom mmg jarang belikan mainan. Lagi-lagi kalau mainan membazir2 ni, she always said I dah besar and tk perlukan mainan lagi.

Being a small child, of course I was dying for the bubbles sadly at that time I can only tengok my friends main jer la. Mungkin disebabkan hidup I yg tk berapa luxury dulu, it triggered my creativity. So one day masa I tengah sapu kapur onto my shoes [I think I was 7-8 years old masa tu], I belek-belek pemegang span penyapu kapur, dan ternampak span tu diselitkan kedalam lubang pemegang penyapu kapur tu [kapur dulu2 ol skool, kene sapu dgn span bukan roll on mcm sekarang]. I was so curious so I pulled the sponge out and voila! Saya nampak satu benda yg lebih kurang sama dengan peniup bubble yg jual dekat kedai!

Daddy..what is that?? It gets into my eyes…

So, quickly I made satu gayung air sabun, not sure how to make one actually, tapi I just belasah jer amik air campur sabun because remember I never had a chance to play with the original bubbles yg jual dekat kedai, so I tak tahu diaorg guna sabun apa or any special liquid ker…Then I dipped the brush holder into the soap liquid, close my eyes and blow as hard as I can and to my surprise it works!!! It workssssssssssssssssssss.

I was so excited and ran to my mom to show her my new “invention!” I remember the moment I blew the bubbles to her face, she just smiles and said “baguslah” Haha..mcm tk heran langsung ok. Yeah mom, I know that I didn’t invent a rocket or an iPhone , but still how many kids with the same age like me at that time knows how to make that bubble thingy from a kapur kasut sponge holder? But it’s okay, I know my mom very well and I also knew that she was actually happy with my determination. Her eyes can’t lie, it speaks only the truth all the time.

Dah pandai jalan, dan……..

…..dah pandai panjat tempayan! grrrrrr…

Regarding Ichiro’s birthday, we are planning for a small party for Ichiro. Hopefully jadi lahhhh. I will also open the invitation for my blog readers soon but sorry banyak-banyak sbb utk my readers I gotto limit it to 10 families only [I dh invite my close friends about 10 families, so altogether campur readers about 20 families]. I wanna keep my son’s party small because afraid that I may not able to entertain all guests and feel bad about it later. Tak best la mcm tu.

Siapa yg sudi hadir nnt, let me know yeah. Just wait for the invitation entry.

p/s: Oh btw Sex & The City 2 is a disaster. Apart from the girls stuff like fab shoes, bags and extravagant hotel [which is boleh tahan la...made me drooling] , the movie is poorly done. Seriously. I hate it so much until all those fab things can’t buy me to like the movie. Frankly it sucks! Sorry to SATC fan. I heart SATC [first movie] better than the second. If rajin, will write a short review about the movie in these few days, but can’t promise.

Ok, I know am so degil, I suppose to sleep by now actually, but dunno what’s keeping me wide awake this late…haihh it really requires mountain of effort to change a habit. In my case, I wanted to sleep early at night and live long [as last few days I read an article in newspaper and it said that people who gets less than 6 hours sleep at night more likely to die fast...whaddaaaaa, confirm la haku mengelupur lepas baca tu]

So, am trying hard to sleep early, but till now as I type -obviously I failed. This is no good, I must try harder…err tomorrow.

I was blog hopping and read on a very interesting topic here about blog + twitter and facebook. Great post Millie! You shouldn’t let your blog berhabuk again cos ur blog has just added 1 more follower/fan —> me!

Ever since Twitter started to make a hit to social media users, many bloggers found that Twitter is so much easy and simpler than blog. No exception to yours truly as I do think the same too. Many said Twitter is the new blog, or Twitter is the new Facebook or Twitter is the new whateverrrrr…

I got my very own opinion on this topic and allow me to share okeh.

I love Twitter because..

• easy to update my status
• great platform to share small things in between major blog posts
• can make money also thru ads. tapi skang saya sudah malassssss mahu compose ads. hihi.
• easy to access thru handphone and pc software
• perfect media to stay connected on the go
• can share pic and video also, how cool is that?
• can simply menyampuk org lain punye tweet and make new friend instantly! even celebrities and perdana menteri malaysia. hehehe…
• sharing links thru twitter is brilliant! banyak org curious akan click and ur followers can retweet and their followers plak akan click and then retweet..u know spreading like a virus!
• hmm what else? the best part, it’s free la

I hate Twitter because..

• my readers prefer to comment on my entry via twitter [lucky I got the twitoaster thingy that could relay comment made on twitter back to my blog post, but some didn't get through] Tapi not that I marah la org komen via twitter, I ok jer…sbb kenelah akur dengan perkembangan teknologi heee, sbbnyer I pon kadang2 komen via twitter jugak. Cumanya I terfikir…kalau lah Twitter tidak wujud, sure tkder channel lain for readers to comment except blog kan? Lain lah kalau org rajin nk SMS and komen pasal blog. Hehe. Ada ker?
• Somehow it also lessening blog reader’s excitement towards new entry/post. Because often they will get mini updates [or sneak peek] via twitter. So mcm dah tahu or dah boleh agak, jadinya tk berapa nak surprise. From now on, no mini updates or sneak peek thru twitter lagi from me. Hee. Wpun adalah tidak tahan mahu bercerita….but l love my blog more than my twitter. Blog ada hmmm..nostalgic value
• hmm what else? I can’t think other than the above la…sbb saya nk cepat tido ni. Dah pukul 3.20am. Kalau korang ada benda nk tambah, silalah tambah ok.

Conclusion, I still prefer and love blog, since I think I can express myself better here. Macam kad hari raya tulisan tangan dengan kad hari raya versi SMS. Yg mana you all rasa lebih mendalam makna kata-katanya?

Surely kad yg tulisan tangan kan? Sbb nyer org yg tulis kad tu, takes extra miles to get the card send to you seperti mencari pen utk menulis, sekali pen tk jumpa, dah jumpa pen tkder ink pulak, terpaksa cari another pen, then tk jumpa, susah2 sangat gi kedai beli pen kilometrico baru, kalau nasib baik tkder aral lagi baru lah boleh tulis sepatah dua kata. Itupon kalau tulisan tk cakar ayam, boleh la buat sekali terus siap, kalau cakar ayam, nk kene padam 2-3 kali sampai lunyai kad. Lepas tu nk kene cari gam, nk gi beli stamp then nk gi pos…Panjang ceritanya beb..

And masihkah ingat pantun femes? Nostalgic ok pantun ni..

To cut it short, it requires such a HUGEeeeeeee effort ok to get the card posted. Terharu ok, lelebih lagi bila ur chenta hati yg willing to go thru the hassle to send the card. Itu belum lagi kad buatan sendiri. Imran pernah hantar kad bentuk ketupat eons ago and I still keeping it now. Yer betul bentuk ketupat yer kawan-kawan, sgt tk lawa kad tu. Tapi I sayanggggg bangat!

But today, ucapan selamat hari raya dengan corak-corak meletup bagai [sungguh kreatif] boleh forward within few clicks jer. Kalau I dpt, then I delete or worst tgk kt preview inbox jer, kalau ada SMS yg sama before tu, tkkan nk baca benda yg sama over and over again yer tak? So, simply delete without reading.

Basically my experience using twitter ni…more to love hate experience la. Once in blue moon, I feel like deleting my twitter, but on second thought tk jadi…for now come follow lah me on twitter here is the link. Ehe.

To blogger[s] who’s reading this, I share mine already, what’s ur verdict?
