I Heart & Recommend

I’ve been trying to update my blog for 2 days, but unfortunately got knocked off early for 2 days in a row. Pretty tired, went there and here to settle my works. Lucky am doing things that I love, so no complaint. Can’t imagine if it is not something that I fancy to do, with the amount of works and responsibility that I need to hold, surely I will giving up in no time.

For your record, I sleep early also today, but manage to wake up in the middle of the night, so here I am…blogging at 5am in the morning! Sweetttt. Huhu.

Orait then, the second Puma Social Campaign was launched at Cosmic Bowl, Mid Valley on 11th November. I was invited and kinda excited when I discovered that the event will be held at the bowling area and the best part is I can bowl for free. You know what, bowling is the only sport that I think I’m good at. “I think” ok, judging from my performance in other sports, I do better in bowling. Huhu. So, that’s the reason why I love bowling so much, I did try archery also previously, but nahhh it’s suck. I mean me suck not archery. Archery is pretty fun.

Manage to get my family to look after Ichiro, because me and husband wanna play bowling! Husband can throw the bowl twist style and he always ended up having a split. Split yg jenis 1 end to 1 end. Gila how to get spare like that. Me definitely no style, I just throw in straight line.

Me and husband was grouped in different group. I got to know that after we got our wristags. I was in Songbirdz group and hubby in Picfreak. I didn’t bring my camera, since my aim was to PLAY! Hahaha. I don’t want my belongings to bother me as the bowling area was dark and I don’t want to keep checking my camera and my other stuff if I bring them. But don’t worry, I have few photos from the event sent to my email.

The event attended by members of the media and a host of PUMA Friends such as Jay Menon, Suki, Dennis Lau, Phat Fabes & Ben, Jason Phang, Jeff Chin Chermaine Poo, Roshan, James Baum, Aric, attendees were introduced to the elements that make up PUMA Social’s latest campaign, which include a personality test and “pimped-up” version of its latest social sports – BOWLING.

So basically Puma want to introduce after-hours Social Sports by bringing together after-hours athlete from all over the world, giving us a platform for social exchange and friendly competition all in the name of fun and camaraderie. Consumers were introduced to the campaign via a fun and interactive club event, known as the PUMA Social Club Tour. Entitled “Here’s to the After-Hours Athlete”, it paid homage to the champions of late night games i.e. foosball, ping pong, darts and arcade games, and applauded accomplished individuals who enjoy the smell of victory and the agony of defeat.

Talking about camaraderie, yeah I did feel it. The moment I joined Songbirdz group, I felt bit alienated by those who came earlier than me. But that’s pretty normal, so I just wore a thick skin on my face and simply introduce myself that I’m in the group and I want to throw the ball. That was it and before I knew, I’d already becoming one of them and the best part it I was also contributing to my team till we won second place. Team awesome! If hubby in the same team, sure we can menang first prize. What a miss. Huhu.

Guy in blue sweater is the host. His name is Josiah Mizukami. Pretty sure he’s a mix blood, but what blood eh? Can you tell? Indian? Japanese? Eurasian? Oh can you guys spot me? I was about to throw a 9kg ball. Ehe.

I got a Puma voucher worth RM50 upon collecting my press kit and another RM200 voucher for winning the game in second place. It’s like a flashback, 2 years ago I won first prize for bowling also during my company annual dinner. Did I tell you that bowling is the only sport that am kinda good at? Heee.

Am looking forward for Puma grand finale event which is in December. Too bad this time round I won’t be able to bowl because the competition will be among the winning team only. Arghhh how I wish to get invited to play again. Hishhh. By the way, the winning group is Foodie and I have no idea how they managed to surpass Songbirdz scores, because we were actually leading for the first half.

Coway Spa Water Softener being launched

Do you guys remember my entry about Coway the other day here? I was invited to the Coway Spa Water Softener launching event last Saturday and it was awesomeeee!! Went there with my husband and son. Vanida Imran and Ning Baizura were among the celebrities who have been invited to the event and there are 2 other Chinese celebrities had joined the sharing session too. They were there to share their experience using the Coway spa water softener.

I’ve only tried the Spa Water Softener for about 1 week and I don’t know much whether it’s good or not for me, until I hear some testimonials from the celebrities. Apparently, the spa water softener is very good for hair too and one of the chinese celebrity was saying that her little daughter  sweat a lot and it always cause rashes to her skin, but ever since she showered her daughter using the Coway spa water softener, her skin condition improved a lot with no more rashes to worried about. And another good testimonial was from Vanida Imran, she was saying the spa water softener is very good to moisturize the skin and she gave some valuable tips which made me so kagum haha. Nothing new actually with her tips it just that I didn’t think of it before this. She said kulit kalau kering, kalau kita scratch our skin a bit with nails, dia akan keluar mcm warna putih and kulit mcm akan terkupas sedikit kan? Dulu masa I kecil2, I asked my fren why I have the white lines and kawan I cakap sbb manusia diperbuat dari tanah , so sbb tu my skin mcm tanah. Nnt mati pon kene tanam dalam tanah. Mendalam sungguh kan jawapan kawan i tu? Hahaha.

My skin was terribly dry as long as I can remember and I came out with the conclusion that I just had to live with it. I didn’t expect at all that my skin condition can gets any better. I’ve tried to drink a lot of water and apply an insane amount of ridiculous expensive lotion, but sadly my skin remained dry.

But tadi I just simply scratch my hand a bit and surprisingly no trace of dry skin came off. I tried again, still tak ada apa2 kesan putih or kulit terkupas ker. Then I cuba cakar kaki sket with my nails sbb selalunya mmg bahagian betis I ni paling kering sekali, but still tak ada langsung kesan warna putih and kulit2 terkupas tu. I was like WOW! It’s true! I got my trial unit installed already last Friday. Installation went pretty quick and simple, if I remember correctly the process takes about 15-20 minutes only. At first I was a bit worried that they are going to uninstall existing shower unit or mount the water softener on top of the existing unit, takut rosak pulak nnt shower yg dh sedia ada, but big relief then when neither of the two mention happen. Ehe. It’s much simpler! Seriously.

Reason why I was so interested to try this product was because firstly I always heard good review about Coway products but never got a chance to test it, sbb kalau nk test kene lah beli dulu huhu. So this time around I wanted to try it my own lah. Ok the bottom one is the Coway spa water softener, very compact and slim kan? Quite simple, there’s no many dial or fancy operation button, very easy to use indeed.

The water softener is compact and slim. It’s functional as a water filter (sort of) for shower. Yup for showering only ok. All these while we only cares for the water that we drink kan? Little did we know that our body also absorb water from skin. So, if you think you have already supply good and clean water to your body, think again…..Are you 100% sure the water that goes into your body are all clean? How about the tap water that you use for bathing? Have you ever think about the insane amount of chlorine being added to the water for treatment? No? You better do now. Kalau kiter fikir diri kita, mesti rasa tk apa-apa sangat kan? Sbb adult skin is already berkarat dan kental hahaha. Ok cuba fikir how about babies? Yoo, lama tak cakap pasal formula milk. Neway, ni ada shocking discovery yang I rasa ramai mak-mak tak tahu and that’s including me lah. Believe it or not, you are actually feeding your child with a lot added sugars in a day. All these while I know mmg susu formula tu sangat manis, but I thot it was ok and harmless (shame on me!) I mean I thot maybe the formula ker apa ker yg buat dia manis, and tkkan la all the manufacturer nk buat susu yang manis utk budak2 kan? So maybe manis tu datang dari formula dia kot? Agak sengal sikit haku di situ kan? Kalau dah manis tu confirm la dari gulaaaaa.

I saw new Anmum Essentials TV ads and was quite shocked to know that current growing up milk contains too much sugars up to 13 teaspoons daily and I’m soooooo glad that Anmum Essentials contains no added sugar at all.

How to know how much added sugars in the milk? Ha sekarang you all boleh check sendiri tau kandungan gula tambahan dalam susu tu. It’s actually pretty easy and you can check this on your own and it can help you and your child to avoid from excessive sugar intake especially in growing up milk. In my case I want to reconfirm that Anmum Essentials doesn’t contains any added sugar. Ok let me show you how; there are 2 ways;

Read label carefully and decode the hidden names of added sugar such as SUCROSE, CORN SYRUP SOLIDS or GLUCOSE SYRUP SOLIDS.

If is not declared as sugars it will be included in the level of carbohydrate. The higher the carbohydrate = the higher added sugars level. You can check the added sugars level in carbohydrate by using a sugar calculator. Make your way to http://www.semakgula.com.my and use the calculator to calculate the added sugars level. We can actually get this calculator at the supermarket as well, but am not that sure where can I get em so guna online lah senang.

Senang kan? So why not nanti spare some times to check on the label and calculate the sugars level or look for the hidden names of added sugars in the label and you might be surprise with your discovery nnt because you could be feeding your child up to 13 teaspoons* of added sugars every day if you see any of these common added sugars in the ingredient list of your child’s growing up milk powder.

Anmum Essentials is the only brand that produce no added sugars product especially for growing up milk so it kinda easy for me to cross out other brand. Heee. No added sugars, then ada ganglioside (for brain development), high in DHA …well all the essentials are already in so no wonder why they named it as Anmum Essentials

Malaysians are such a “sweet” people , agree? And we are so “sweet” till we don’t realize that our health is actually at stake. Betul tak? Ataupun mmg tahu In a local 2003 food study, the researcher discovered Malaysian adults add about 7 teaspoons sugar per day to his or her drinks. Sangat byk ok! and it is definitely not good if 7 teaspoons of sugars being consume everyday! When I was still working back in year 2009, I saw many of my colleagues make sweet drinks every morning and I believe semua office pon sama kan? Pagi-pagi makan nasi lemak and buat coffee or tea or milo aktiviti wajib sambil bergossip pasal drama TV3 malam smlmnya. Haha. Lepas tu pukul 10 masuk pantry lagi refill drinks. Goshhhh. Sgtlah sugary ok hari anda!

Besides sugars, we also take food like “nasi lemak, roti canai , noodles and etc” which are a carbohydrate rich food and this will definitely double up the amount of daily sugars intake. So janganlah buat-buat terperanjat or tertanya-tanya (sound like me too. Heeee) from where lah the excessive baggage came from. It’s all from the sugars or maybe some from other sources, but sugars no doubt is the main culprit.

What is added sugars? Or better known as artificial sugars. Artificial sugar is non natural and being added to processed food by the manufacturer while natural sugars ialah sugar yang sedia ada dalam food seperti dalam buah-buahan. But key point di sini adalah kita kene mengurangkan kuantiti gula, tak kiralah added sugar or natural sugar. Faham kan? So kalau adalah la manufacturer kata…”ooo takpe2, product kami ni guna gula batu perah dari tebu bagai” . Firstly, don’t 100% believe them (hahah businessman talk only tu) secondly, it’s still sugar la dear, be it natural or not. Get me? Tetap penyebab diabetic. Haa…careful ok.

But not everything about sugars is bad lah. We still need sugars for energy to perform daily tasks nk main facebook semua tu pakai tenaga, our aim now is to reduce our sugar intake. Not to deny sugars. To train someone to not be a sweet tooth can be done since young, meaning since he/she still an infant. So choice of milk is very important to make sure child not addictive to sugars. Breast milk is definitely a perfect choice but to those who are not so lucky and in the looking for alternative milk, no worries sebab sekarang there is a susu formula tanpa gula available. Bagus kan? Me likey!

I used to worry about sugars being added to baby’s formula milk. In fact the first brand that we used (before we switching to Anmum) was wayyyyy too sweet for Ichiro. We prefer non added sugars milk but it wasn’t available before or maybe kalau ada pon, kami tak tahu kewujudannya.

But recently when we wanna buy Anmum Essentials milk for Ichiro, husband noticed there was a price difference in between the old and new packaging of Anmum Essentials, price per new box is slightly more (about few cents if I’ve not mistaken), the difference is very little I should say, somebody like me won’t notice for sure (sebab jenis orang tak apa-apa punya- i.e tk kisah), but my husband is quite alert….that’s most probably because he’s the one who paying for it…hahaha. Tapi dia mmg mcm tu, kalau dia tk bayar pon, mmg dia akan perasan dulu punya.

We inquired about the price increase and we were then being told that the milk has been repackaged due to new formula, which is with no added sugars. It is more concentrated formulation with 100% more DHA and provide more serving in each pack. Very good right? Concentrated formulation ni maksudnya macam nutrients yang ada dalam susu tu dah compact so the easiest example I can give is 1 scoop milk powder of non-concentrated contains less nutrients/vitamins/ compare to 1 scoop concentrated milk powder. So, that’s why kalau lah u all beli susu Anmum ni kan, scoop yg baru adalah lebih kecil sedikit, sbb u dh tk perlu scoop besar sebab susu tu sendiri dah concentrated. Bestest!

Tapi kan bila kira-kira balik, actually new pricing and packaging is more economy. You get more scoops sebenarnya sbb the powder is concentrated. So more servings.

But I was a bit worried juga that Ichiro might not like it, cos for sure it would be tasteless lah kan, but surprisingly that never happened at all! Like seriously! Ichiro drank his milk like usual! We were so relief. Another advantage of non added sugar milk is kami perasan no uninvited creatures (the ants!) near the area where we place the milk and bottles. They used to be having feast almost everyday before , sbb I selalu tertumpah susu. Hehe. Yeah am so reckless. Smack me please.
