Spam email from “bloggerz.me” & email etiquette

I really can’t stand spam, who can anyway? I’ve learnt from somewhere that we shouldn’t open any spam email as spammers would sense it and soon bombard us with more spam emails! How evil!

Lately, I keep getting weird email from someone that I know, but the email was quite suspicious as there was no subject in the subject field, however thanks to email preview as I can take a peek to its content before deciding to read and open the email.

Mostly content of the spam email looks like below; {the xxxxxx normally is the email address owner’s name}

At first I didn’t know this is spam email. But after keep on getting the same pattern of email from the same person (it just that the link will be different in each of the email sent), so decided to google on it using below keywords.

bloggerz.me spam

And some of the results that is very helpful is HERE and HERE. Apparently it is a scam and spam of Canadian pharmacy virus.

Problem now, if I mark those emails as spam, I will no longer receive any email from that person, be it spam or no spam email. So, I was bit reluctant to mark as spam as am afraid that that person wasn’t able to send me any email in the future, furthermore she’s one of my Usana downline. Hence, I just deleted it without marking as spam.

Unfortunately, yesterday I got another one and that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I really need to mark it as spam. To Farina Suhaila, I’m actually getting those spam emails from you. Perhaps you may want to change your password email and scan your computer too.

I got similar email from different sender today, but already deleted the email and can’t recall the sender name. I wish I haven’t deleted the email so that I could highlight this spam issue to her. She’s also one of my Usana customers. Now am starting to worry that my email might be spamming other people’s email too.

And I often received spam emails that being sent by me! haha (not funny tho) and this is call spoofing.

A spammer needs to send spam emails and they don’t want to use an address associated with them. So, they add someone else’s address to the From: field of the email. When the email bounces, it comes to the person’s address. In this case, me ~ http://www.commoncraft.com/spammer-spoofing-my-email-address

Besides spam emails, I do also hate forwarded emails, especially if the email being forwarded unethically. I don’t mind if you want to forward me emails or anything (except porn stuff and virus). But please kindly do not reveal my email address to other recipients. The best practice to forward email is to use the BCC, Blind Carbon Copy. By putting the email address in BCC field, other recipient won’t be able to see the rest of other recipient’s address.

That’s the correct way to forward email. Sbb everytime I tengok my email terpampang berserta email2 org lain, hati I panas okeh. Sbb nnt soon, I akan dpt email forward dari org lain plak, then soon another, then soon soon soon another. Arghhhh.

Sorry kalau ada antara email-email tu mmg genuine sifatnya utk berniaga, tetapi cara spam ni dah tentunya salah and for sure tk ramai nk join biz anda kalau buat cara spamming ni. Hentikanlah yer aktiviti spam menyepam ni. Tk baik. Buat kene maki dgn org jer.

So now you know why I have so many emails. Yes, to avoid spam. My other email especially email under myblog domain [at]mrmrsimran.com is pretty clean by far. Sbb, I don’t use it for subscribing purpose. Yg nazak ni my gmail email.
