Macam mana nk buat ni?

Firstly, I would like to congratulate Dieyra since she got the first name right. The contest is still going on tho and hope there will be someone that could guess the second name of my baby. Hint will be given, but not as frequent as before.

Yup, you read it right, the first name is DARWIS. I wish Dieyra could tell us what made her guess that name. Ok Dieyra? Nnt tulis dekat komen yeh.

I’m thinking to be off from work starting next week. It’s not advisable to drive to work especially when you getting nearer to your EDD. For now, I’m still driving to work, send my husband to his workplace and pick him up as well. So, I guess by next week he needs to drive on his own. Manja tu, pergi kerja pon wife hantar.

This morning, before he stepped out from the car, he said to me;

Him: Dear, I ada hadiah utk u.

Me: Apa? (muke berbunga-bunge manis diabetic)

Him: Pooootttttt (kentut sambil sengih)

Ok…I hate him.

Oh btw, dear peeps especially experience mommies, I’m seeking for a solution regarding breastfeeding. Me and husband plan to put our baby into my mom care dekat kampong for the time being. So, we will only get the chances to see our baby during the weekend.

The questions are;

1. How do I store my milk supply (especially when pumping at office) so that it won’t stale. After pumping let say during lunch hour, do I need to keep it in chiller or fridge?

2. Is it ok, if I put it in the fridge after work? About 6 hours after pumping (sbb fridge kt office ni mcm tk hygienic jer haku rasa) Will the milk still good to be consumed after a week? Since I didn’t store it in the fridge right after I got it pumped out.

3. And how to travel for quite a long distance (2 n half hours) with EBM inside the car? Will the milk stay fresh since it has been taken out from the fridge, put in the car and being stored in the fridge again at my mom’s house. Do I need to ensure that the milk is always frozen even when traveling? How do I do that? Ada alat canggih ker nk buat dia beku sentiasa?

4. Kat mana nk beli plastic or bekas nk simpan EBM? Yg kecil2 comel lote…

Kalau tk faham soalan-soalan I ni. Sila drop komen yeh. I’m struggle with language be it Malay or English. Taip dalam Malay pon stuck, dalam English pon stuck. This is the best I can do. I think I should start learning third language.

salam..its very good that u want to breastfeed ur baby..hopefully EBM.

i wud suggest that u get a chiller(u can get a package from Medela or Avent breastpump.) rite after pumping put the milk in it and store in the fridge once u got home. the milk must be cool if not freeze.my advice wud be, pump every 2 hours to make sure that ur milk supply will be good.

oic…not so sure whether one that I bought (medela freestyle) comes with chiller or not. but considering the price, it better comes with a chiller lah..hehe

hmm i dont think to pump for every 2 hours is possible if i’m working..but will try. sbb kalau for 15 minutes i think should be ok la utk escape pergi pump milk kejap

1) I kept the expressed breast milk in the fridge while at the same time, keeping the ice brick in the freezer.

2) A week? If the BM is frozen, than it still can be consumed after a week. I read somewhere that BM is still in consumable condition if you leave ‘em in room temperature for (at most) 4 hours.

3) Buy a chiller/cooler(?) bag and ice packs. Once the BM is thawed and has changed its form from solid to liquid, it’s not recommended to be frozen again

4) I bought them online – ada bnyk online store yg jual.

my concern now, is the chiller that comes with medela package good enough to store the milk for about 6 hrs, before I could reach home after work and store it in freezer?

boleh tahan ker? chiller tu adakah sangat efektif dari segi kesejukkan dia?

If I’m not mistaken, the chiller can tahan for 8-10 hrs. Am talking about medela chiller brick here.

i’m no brave dear. but i really really don’t have much choices. maid is not an option. now i’m staying with my MIL. but she’s also working.

and i dare not to put my baby into someone dat i hardly know care since he’s still too small and fragile.

but, for sure we are going to find someone to look after our baby, but for the time being my mom kat kampung will jaga the baby.

well i guess this is quite common for working mommy.

Yes u are one brave mommy..I yang hantar daycare je pun teringat2 kat dia whole day kat ofis…Maybe you’ll re consider the plan once the baby arrives. The feeling tu only a mother knows. You just want to be with him 24/7..going back to work is one hard thing to do.

I agree with the above comment to pump as much as you can since you are only direct feeding your baby 2 days a week..nothing beats baby’s stimulation to produce milk.

it’s more to sacrifice than brave I guess. dat’s what excatly i dont want to encounter, i dont want to keep worried about the baby if i send him to daycare/or into someone care for the time being. the baby is still too small, i think i’ll wait until few months before getting a baby sitter.

i just can trust anyone except immediate family. u know la kan first baby. we don have experience. and baca dlm paper macam2 jadi to baby yg di jaga oleh maid and yg di hantar ker daycare….so, thats really put my nerve on laaa…

but, for sure we will try to get someone that we could really rely on to look after our baby.

for the time being, my mom is the best.

-boleh simpan dalam fridge or dalam cooler bag with chiller..
sebagai contoh jika anda menggunakan medela cooler bag
anda boleh simpan susu anda dalam cooler bagi itu with chillermedela plus 2-3 ketul of techni ice—from my experinece tahan up to 12 hours
jika di dalam fridge…letak di ‘fridge’ bukan freezer area
so that tiuada masalah susu mencair dalam perjalanan pulang ke rumah
guna cooler bag with chiller transfer EBM balik rumah

kalau letak dalam cooler bag and transfer ke freezer is OK….
susu boleh tana dalam suhu bilik up to 8 hours

a) boleh guna avent via cup-kat butik2 anakku…babyland ada jual
b)boleh guna bekas dadih-kat kedai2 brgn cake banyak jual
c)boleh guna avent disposable line
d)boleh guna botol-botol susu…

Dear,

1. Fresh ebm can tahan in chiller for 10hours. If u still doubt, put in cooler bag (+chiller) & masuk dlm ur ofice fridge.

2. Bila blk rumah, masuk dlm freezer je.

3. U hav 2 ensure frozen ebm tak cair, once dh cair tak bole re froze. Pakai bekas air batu yg besar 2,put ur frozen ebm+ais byk2 smpai penuh.i did this for 8hours journey. Ok la, 95% selamat.

Since ur bb will be taken care by m0m:
1. Make sure pam stok byk2 masa pantang.
2. Bila dh kerja pam at least 8-12 times per day.
3. Direct feed as much as p0sible bila jumpa ur baby.
4. Try to supply more than his weekly demand to prepare 4 growth spurt.

hi! offcourse he remembers you. he sez u we’re a close frewn of his in UNI days. He remembers ur hubby very well too. What a small world, actually I have been reading ur blog silently before you got preggie. I thot you and hubby are a cute couple together..

about the baby arrangement, I understand. I don’t think I trust other people to take care of my son if not my own family. Currently, Reyza is taken care of biggs mom. But we also got ourselves a maid by the time Reyza reached 9 months. Coz MIL tak larat nak dukung him. He was ‘semangat’. So, everyday I have to drop them off at PIL’s house b4 goin off to work.

But be sure, you get the support from hubby & family all the time. Because we might get emotional if we get separated from the baby. I’m not kidding you. You are a strong women, I’m sure you could handle it! Take care! Don’t forget to post up pictures of ur baby nanti!!!!

Mmg brave betul hehe. I hantar both my daughters kat Day care / nursery when their age is still 2 months. Until now, both are abt 4 years and 2 years old. So far x de problem kat situ dan harap selama2nya. Tp betul, saya yg laki ni pun balik kerja nak tengok baby dulu sbb excited dan rinduuuuuuu. Anyway, kl letak kat kampung is the best option, then is better. Kena selalu buat video call atau thru webcam la nak tgk baby selalu hehe.
