Lantern festival has over. I was pretty disappointed cos I can`t found any or even single house that did hang their beautiful lantern all over their house including the tree. Ok minus the tree. They are some of them who did hang, but it was not the type of lantern that I looking for. The want dat I adored was the traditional & conventional one. Which they use candle to put the light on. And, what a mesmerize beautiful thing it was. The shadow which project out by the candle from inside the lantern really full of mystery and I love shadow. Contemporary one has never ever have place in my heart. They are just boring with an annoying sound. No fires to play with cause it use batteries. Yesterday, when my husband and I was about to duck into our car, then I saw our neighbor , the lady was leading her kids to the road , which every one of them are holding 2 lantern each. Wasting no time, I called them, asked the lady permission to take her kids picture with the lantern. So, this is the only picture I have for the lantern festival this year. At least I got one. I did chat something with the lady;

Mrs mran: Hi missus (I don know her name). Sori, kacau anak u main tang lung, I dah lama cari gambar budak2 main tang lung tapi tk dapat lah. [Sorry for bothering u and the kids, but I can`t get a picture of kids playing lantern anywhere else]

The lady: Ooo takpa, takpa. I tak kisah u ambil gambar anak i. (smiling) [Ooo nevermind, I don`t mind u snap their picture]

Mrs mran: Hi adik, cantiknye tang lung. Ni pakai bateri punye ek? [Hi, what a beautiful lantern you have here. Is this the one which use battery?]

The lady: Bukan, yang ni pakai api punye. Dia org ni ta nak main yg pakai bateri punye. Sbb tak dapat main api. Diaorg ni bukan nk main tang lung. Tapi nk main api. [Nah, this one use real fire. They don want to play battery lantern one, cos they not actually want to play lantern, but they want to play fire]

Mrs mran: Oooooooo (I see)

I remember when I was at university. I have a fren. She adored `tang lung` (lantern) soo much. Then one day, when we were heading back to our hostel, she saw this house full of lantern even their trees also covered with lantern, that`s why I said tree just now, very beautiful and tempting. So we stopped near the gate, and courteously asked the owner for a lantern. Out of our expectation, instead of laughed at us, the owner agreed to give 2 instead 1 of the lantern. Im smiling now. Whad a memorable memories. Perhaps, she still adores the lantern like she used to. Cos I still adore her like I used to.
